Many of these changes are horrible. It sets up a situation where if we get zero financial aid and only loans as a married couple with one child going into college, our kid would benefit more from us being no longer married. That's TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Worth noting, we had one good financial year (last year) which was the income used on the FAFSA, but prior to that, we have struggled and been in debt for the 15 years prior. These changes encourage breaking families apart just to get more financial opportunities for our child. HORRIBLE.

Isn't there a loophole here? I could put myself as the benecifiary of my 529 account during the FAFSA process time and later change the beneficiary to my kid so I can use the 529 money for their college expense.

I apparently need to make a correction, but can't figure out what? When I ran the estimator, it told us $7800 in grants, $5500 in low rate loans and able to benefit from work-study. After submitting the real thing, it said we get nada. Zilch. Zip. So how can we figure out what on the FAFSA is disqualifying us compared to the estimator? Thanks!

Thank you for the video! I may be looking at your services soon, but you may not be the right choice for me. Do you only work with high school/parent financial aid? I am in my 20s and won't have my parents on my application, i believe.

They specifically say that if you enter it manually, that your student will not get aid. So what's the point?

Is there a way to correct if the student put both parents and only need the one and to add the student signature if it was already submitted with both errors?

How do you answer question asking if you are married when you are separated?

I am a bit confused with the questions of divorce/seperation but also the question about 2022 tax return. I'm the student, we are currently separated nearing an official divorce, but the tax return question is if we filed jointly in 2022 and won't allow the answers from the 2 questions to not align.
